About Sola Flowers

Sola wood flowers are sustainably sourced from the raw material of tapioca root. They are light, delicate and scent-free. The natural colour of sola wood flowers is ivory but they can be painted any colour.

I purchase my sola wood flowers from various international wholesalers.

I use a variety of techniques to paint, depending on the type of flower and the colour. I use acrylic paint and most often use a combination of dip-dyeing and hand-painting.

A lifetime (with proper care)!

Sola wood flowers are delicately handcrafted and may have some imperfections such as small tears, holes, and brown spots. When dyed, especially in darker pigments, they become more delicate and require extra care as chipping and breakage can occur. They are perfectly imperfect, just like fresh flowers! If chipping or breakage occur, the broken edge can be painted in the same colour, so it isn’t noticeable. 

Sola wood flowers are meant for the indoors. Please avoid placing the flowers in direct sunlight, moisture, humidity or heat. Over time, if the flowers become dusty, they can be cleaned by gently blowing cool air on them from a hair dryer or can of compressed air. Do not to apply either option too close to the flowers. 

Sola wood flowers are unscented, which is a key benefit for those with scent sensitivities. Some arrangements are made using preserved natural greenery. Most of the greenery does not have a scent, however, some greenery such as eucalyptus does. 

If you wish to add a scent to your arrangement, you can apply some essential oil to the underside of the flowers.

Sola flowers should not be exposed to humidity. It is recommended that they are only placed in a bathroom without a bath/shower or in a bathroom with good ventilation.

Returns & Payment

All orders are individually handcrafted and made-to-order. Sales are final once payment has occurred. As customer satisfaction is very important, if you are not happy with your order, please email info@woodandwonder.ca within 7 business days of receipt. 

In the event an arrangement is damaged through the shipping process, please take a picture of the damage and attach it to an email to info@woodandwonder.ca within 7 business days of receipt and it will be replaced. 

Orders may be canceled within 24 hours of the date-of-purchase by emailing info@woodandwonder.ca with the subject line “Cancellation.” A refund on a cancelled order will be applied to the original method of payment. 

All orders must be paid in full at the time of order.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay.

Yes. It is required to charge 13% HST on the subtotal of each order.  

Shipping and Delivery

Free local contactless delivery is available within the Hamilton, Ontario, and surrounding area on orders that subtotal $50 or more. If the customer's address (based on postal code) is eligible for free delivery, the option will appear at checkout.

Orders that qualify for delivery to the Hamilton, Ontario and surrounding area will be determined at checkout and based on the customer's postal code. I deliver once or twice per week.

If you'd like to request a specific delivery date, please email info@woodandwonder.ca prior to ordering to determine if I am able to accommodate the request. I will do my best to accommodate specific delivery date requests.

All products are made-to-order. The average processing time for orders is 5-10 business days and will depend on what is ordered and the quantity. If your order is time sensitive, please email info@woodandwonder.ca prior to ordering to enquire.

Once processed, the order will either be delivered (if applicable) or shipped. For orders that are shipped within Canada, customers typically receive their order within 7 business days of it being shipped. For orders outside of Canada, customers typically receive their order within 2-3 weeks of it being shipped. Wood & Wonder has no control over shipping time as that is determined by the carrier. During high volume times, it may take the carrier longer to ship an order.

Shipping fees are calculated by the carrier and depend on the size and weight of the package.

For orders that are shipped, you will be provided a tracking number by email once your order has shipped.   

Wood & Wonder can ship worldwide. All products are made-to-order. Once an order has been processed, it will be shipped via Canada Post (and then subsequent carriers). Wood & Wonder has no control over shipping time, but most international customers receive their order within 2-3 weeks of it being shipped. Once an order has shipped, the customer will receive an email with the tracking number. Please note that the shipping times shown at checkout are the estimated Canada Post shipping times and do not include the processing time. Shipping fees are determined by the carrier at checkout. For orders outside of Canada, the customer is responsible for any additional fees, duty, import taxes, etc that may be unforeseen. Wood & Wonder is not accountable should the customer incur any additional fees for ordering outside of Canada.

General Questions

Yes you can! When sending as a gift, please use the recipients address in the shipping option at checkout. Additionally, you can choose to include a complimentary greeting card with message to the recipient. To do so, click the "sending as a gift" option on the cart page and follow instructions on the pop up.

Gift wrap is available for $3.50. Add this to your order by checking off the gift option box on the cart page and checking the gift wrap box on the pop up.

Wood & Wonder specializes in décor using sola wood flowers and frequently offers new products.

Orders will look similar to the picture shown. However, no two orders will look exactly the same as each is individually handcrafted and made-to-order. The quantity of flowers may vary as the size of each flower can vary. Additionally, the colours of the flowers may look slightly different in person than what appears on a screen. 

Each customer will receive a beautiful piece that was lovingly created just for them! 

I am happy to try and accommodate custom requests, such as requests to change/add colours to the sola wood flowers of an existing product or to change the types of flowers used. 

There is a $10 fee per arrangement ($5 fee per mini mason jar) to change/add colours to the flowers or to change the types of flowers used. There is no fee to remove colours. If you wish make a change request, please email info@woodandwonder.ca prior to ordering to enquire.

There is no additional fee to make a change to the colour of the jar of a mason jar arrangement. If you wish to change the colour of a jar, please order the product you want and in the notes on the cart page please indicate the colour of the jar you prefer (please check out the complete Wood & Wonder mason jar collection to determine the jar colours that are available). For example, if you are interested in ordering the Serenity by the Sea mason jar arrangement but prefer a cream jar, please order the Serenity by the Sea mason jar arrangement and in the notes at checkout please indicate your request for it to be made in a cream jar.

Wood & Wonder solely specializes in décor. If you'd like an arrangement that is offered through the online shop to use for a wedding (e.g. for table centrepieces), please contact info@woodandwonder.ca prior to ordering to ensure there is enough stock on hand to fulfill the order.

Wood & Wonder will participate in events, such as virtual craft shows. Once it is safe to do so, we also plan to participate in face-to-face events. Any event info will be announced on social media.
